Operating Rules and Regulations
MEMBERSHIP
- Access is limited to members. An adult who is age 16 or older must accompany children under the age of 16. Keys will be issued to the member only after fees are paid, proof of insurance for all watercraft and $1 million liability is furnished and any other requirements established by the directors have been met.
- Memberships are non-transferable, and once a member withdraws either by non-payment of dues or otherwise, his/her membership ceases.
- The initial entrance fee and the subsequent dues assessment fee shall be decided at each annual meeting.
- Dues assessments are due no later than January 31st for each year. Unless full payment is paid such person shall be dropped from the club unless a legitimate reason is presented in writing and is approved by the directors. Each member is to be notified of the annual meeting in writing at his/her last known address.
- Membership means an individual and/or spouse or significant other, and children age twenty-five (25) or under who live at the home of the member. One vote per membership.
- Membership Procedure: The Board of Directors shall recommend how many new memberships are available for the coming year. No municipality, corporation, company etc., shall be deemed eligible for membership. Membership shall be considered only once each year. Applications must be submitted to the Board of Directors by December 15th proceeding the year of membership. Upon receipt of any applications, the Board shall screen the applications and select the new member(s). The Secretary shall notify the winner(s) who shall fully pay all fees within five (5) days of notification.
- Annual meeting of the members shall be held in a suitable place, on any given day or evening in November prior to December 1st, in each year.
- There will be one or more workdays per year as established by the Directors. All members must participate in at least one workday or be assessed a fine of $250.00. The Directors upon written request will decide any relief from the fine.
- Each member assumes responsibility as a patrol officer to see that the rules of the club are observed. All complaints of violations are to be turned into an officer or director in writing.
- Violators will be warned or suspended for a period of time to be established by officers and directors. If permanently suspended, no refund of money to be allowed.
- The directors not to exceed $100.00 per year may levy any special assessment during the year on the members.
- Limit of one (1) guest family or two (2) guests per membership at any time without prior approval of at least two (2) directors. Family members also may not exceed one guest at any time. Members must be present with the guest.
- Party request must be in writing.
- No parties on Holiday weekends beginning at 5pm on Friday through Sunday, including Father’s Day, 4th of July, Memorial Day & Labor Day. With the 4th of July weekend to be the weekend closest to the 4th and both weekends if it falls in the middle of the week.
- No guest campers on Holiday weekends, including Father’s Day, 4th of July, Memorial Day & Labor Day. With the 4th of July weekend to be the weekend closest to the 4th and both weekends if it falls in the middle of the week.
- No non-member dogs are allowed.
INSURANCE
- Each member must have at least $1,000,000.00 personal liability insurance and file a certificate of proof with the secretary within 30 days of membership and before issuance of a key. Boat owners must also furnish proof of ownership and liability insurance on the boat.
- No boats to be allowed on lake property until proof of ownership and insurance have been turned in to the Secretary.
- No non-member boats allowed except for demonstration of sale with proof of insurance, and shall be approved in advance by two members of the board.
FACILITIES
- Gates must be kept locked at all times. No member or family member is allowed to give out keys for access to the lake to anyone that is not a member of the club. Each member is to have two keys which shall be non-duplicable. A member shall pay the cost of his/her key.
- Bring trash containers and keep lake and shore clean. Each member is responsible for removal of their own trash.
- No rocks, stones or rip-rap are to be removed or moved from the side of lake for any reason whatsoever.
- No boats, campers, trailers, etc., allowed overnight unless attended and limited to eleven (11) days.
VEHICLES
- Vehicles and campers must be confined to roads and parking areas and must display the identification sticker on the left rear of the vehicle. Vehicles are not to be driven over 10 mph anywhere on the property. Roads must not be used for parking where parking areas have been designated.
- All-terrain vehicles (ATV’s), three wheelers, off-road motorcycles, go carts and any unlicensed motor vehicles or ATV’s are not allowed. No vehicles allowed on dike when roadbed is soft or wet. No vehicles allowed on ice.
HUNTING
- No firearms except during legal small game season, then only shotguns. Limit for game in accordance with State limit per license. No target practice will be permitted. A hunting chairman appointed by the Board shall be in charge of blind placements and all blinds shall be approved by him.
FISHING
- Each member and family may catch the State limit of fish; Guests must share this limit.
BOATING - WATER SKIING AND SWIMMING
- Boats and other watercraft must have boat stickers. The identification must be displayed at all times on both sides midship (including sailboats and rafts).
- No non-member boats are allowed (except See #19)
- No person under the age or 15 years old shall drive a boat unless accompanied by a person 18 years of age or older.
- Abide by all State and Coast Guard Regulations.
- All skiers and passengers must wear life jackets or belts.
- All non-swimmers and all children under 12 shall wear life jackets or belts at all times when in or on the water.
- No water skiing or boating 50 yards from all shore lines except for leaving, landing or fishing.
- Water skiing is allowed only from ½ hour after sun-up to ½ hour after sundown.
- Keep boats moving in counter clockwise direction, water skier preparing for landing has the right of way.
- Any boat pulling a skier must have at least one person in addition to the driver. No more than two (2) skiers at any time behind any one boat.
- While water skiing, if skier falls, a boat must turn and protect his skier, skier must hold up a ski if endangered by other boats. Boaters should hold up an orange flag while the skier is in the water.
- When boats are approaching each other head-on or so nearly as to endanger collision, it shall be the duty of each to turn to the right to pass.
- When two boats are crossing so as to involve risk of collision, the boat which has the other on her right side shall keep out of the way of the other boat.
- A boat overtaking any other boat shall keep out of the way of the overtaken boat.
- No swimming over 100 ft from shore.
- No skin diving or scuba diving except in an emergency.
- Life jackets, belly boats or adequate flotation device to be used while on ice.
